Makita LXT211

I decided to go with makita after quite a bit of research. I'm a journeyman carpenter who has used several cordless drills over the years. Have had an 18V Milwaukee NiCad for years and it still works fine, but i got tired of replacing the batteries. Sometimes they would last 2 years, sometimes less. Could have bought a couple new drills for what I've spent on batteries. I've had the Makita combo kit for a few months now and I'm very impressed and happy with the two tools. Light and powerful. What took me so long! I've always been satisfied with Amazon's service.

These drills are contractor grade, but I use them for home improvement. They are more than enough for DIYers and I am very happy with my purchase.

I have had this tool set for 3 months and it has been a pleasure to use them. I have very small hands and had no previous experience in using impact driver or drill. After trying out many different brand of driver and drills in stores, I chose Makita LXT series because they are light and powerful. Both the driver and drill sit perfectly in my palm, all the buttons are intuitively designed, and the operation is smooth and quiet. The battery took only 15 min or so to charge, and last a very long time. Highly recommended for average household use.

As a union metal stud framer, I have found this tool to be extremely convenient and durable. I would recomend this to both construction workers or for around the house. Amazon.com's price was unbeatable!!

I had reservations about the light feature until I found out how bright it is and that it stays on for a while. I have even taken to just using it instead of carrying a flashlight too. There is also a glow in the dark ring that helps you find the impact driver in the dark. Sounds a little silly until you find out that the light is attached to something that can drive a 12" lag screw into a glu-lam with ease. It is also small enough to fit in tight quarters and light enough to use all day without causing the tennis elbow I was getting from my 18 volt Porter Cable hammer drill. Just getting the impact driver and charger was worth the cost but the drill is a nice bonus.
