Makita BJR182Z Cordless Reciprocating Saw

Bought this bare tool sawzall snce I conveniently already own a couple of Makita cordless hammerdrills which use the same batteries. Don't expect a cordless sawzall to take the place of a corded saw. Choosing whether or not to use a cordless saw depends on a few things: type of material being cut, amount of material being cut and the cutting location and last but not least whether you want to run an extension cord or not. If you spend good money on a quality saw, don't be cheap on blades. Independant research indicates Milwaukee blades are the best. Second place goes to Lenox. Third place goes to Bosch.

I bought this tool to compliment the drill and impact driver kit I purchased. I am not a contractor, so this tool doesn't see heavy duty use all the time. I use it mostly for small projects, and for pruning; where portability is a must. Battery life is surprisingly good, and power is too. Blade changes are easy, and the footplate adjustability is a welcomed feature. I like that it has an "electric brake" which means the blade stops as soon as the trigger is released. This is a great tool, with well designed ergonomics (like most, if not all Makita tools) to include light weight. Very pleased with my purchase.

What a great tool! I bought it for cutting out a steel basement window frame. With a metal blade (purchased separately) the saw cut through the metal frame like butter. No problems with the blade falling out, or too loose, Like I read in some reviews. This tool can save you lots of time and is FUN to use. Cheers!
