Everything this HDC TM900 camcorder boasts it may do. I remember when I thought I had been a little video when really the switch has been accidentally been gone to live in still camera so no video was recorded. This is hands down a great camera. HD video is absolutely stunning. Have used Adobe Premiere Pro to edit 1080P video with no problem. Have also used Corel Video Studio X3, very inexpensive, without a problem. Fast computer is required to get smooth playback, I am running a 3.06 GB I7 with 12GB RAM. That being said, the video can be edited successfully on a slower computer but may be choppy when editing. This however, will not affect the quality when rendered to Blue Ray. Many seem to be making a big deal about the fan noise. My take is this, the fan can be heard, very slightly, but only in super quiet environments. Additionally, if you shoot the video with the LCD monitor closed and use only the electronic viewfinder, I can't hear the fan even in the most quiet shooting environments.

I've had my camera now for about 3 weeks. I've used it indoors and outdoors. Fan noise has not been an issue at all. Colors are crisp and clear. Easy to hook up and watch the videos on my TV (with proper HDMI cable-not included). Also, all the video, both iFrame and AVCHD, easily transferred into my iMac for editing with iMovie. I've recorded to internal memory on the camera and also to a 64GB SDXC card...both work just fine. As well as video, it is also a solid still camera. I do prefer to use a digital SLR for still photos, but when I only have the video camera with me, it is more than adequate for the task. I haven't figured out everything it can do just yet, but am very pleased so far.

For those in the market for a new camcorder and currently going through the process of racking and stacking various cameras against one another, you can stop. There is no better bang for your buck than the TM900k, I have used it to shoot a ton of video since receiving it in a wide variety of lighting conditions and it has performed above and beyond. Those who have concerns about the fan noise need not worry unless you are filming dead silent eating air tests. The truth is you never hear the fan on the film due to real life conditions. I have filmed inside at a play where there were extremely low noise (and lighting) conditions and not once did I stop and say, "silly fan...wish I had bought product X" while using Final Cut Pro to edit the video later. If you are torn between this camera and another that cost slightly less, put your pennies in a jar and wait till you have the extra coin to grab this one.
