Pioneer VSX-1020-K

I've had this receiver for a few months and I am extremely pleased. I shopped receivers for 6 months prior to making this purchase and I couldn't be happier. The iPhone/iPod dock (included), ease of setup, and great quality sound make this definitely worth the price.

After reasearch, you just can't find a better reciever for the money. Because of the way it so accurately calibrates your specific types of speakers to the distance from the microphone (that is supplied), my surround hasn't ever sounded better. Even the learning remote it comes with i found far easier to setup than other learning remotes and its basic setup is very logical. I love this thing.

Excellent. Six HDMI inputs, easy iPod connectivity, and sweet sound quality make the Pioneer VSX-1020-K an excellent AV receiver.

This receiver looks amazing. It doesn't get any smudges on it because I don't touch the face of it at all, that's why I have a remote. I don't use the iphone app that much but it has been useful the times I have used it. The receiver was easy to set up and works great with my 5 speakers.

This unit replaces a five-year old Denon receiver for a 5-speaker system that includes towers plus in-ceiling speakers. I was intent on not spending a lot on this upgrade for what was a system of limited use for years because of bad control setup. The results were good. Audio connections setup easily. Video component modernized with HDMI. FOR THE FIRST TIME it's possible to use one remote to control audio/video. Heads up display on receiver is readable across from 15-20 feet. The equalization software allowed a balancing of the speakers that markedly improved the sound quality. Now the best -- the Ipod connection -- visable both on the Video unit and on the receiver display. In sum, this purchase upgraded the overall sound system from barely functional to a fully-functional status, and thus has met my objective fully.

This receiver is amazing. I've loaded it with all kinds of devices and wires and bluetooth, etc. It works amazing. It is a true work horse for a home setup! Some people find the remote confusing... at first,but it is actually quite good when you know it. I'm not sure that the new 1021-K is much better, but I'm thrilled with my 1020-K and will be for many many years to come!

Pioneer VSX-1020K is Cnet's editor's choice award winner..for a reason. Plenty of power, plenty of HDMI connectors, easy set up. Fabulous sound. One complaint, the iPod/iPad app does not work. Not sure why, but worked only once for me. Not a major loss, but would be nice if it actually worked!
