Rowenta DW9080

I bought this iron for my wife. She commented on how she likes it, how smooth and easy it is to use. I'd say she is satified with it as a replacement. rowenta dw9080

I iron ALOT. Several times a day, and I had completely worn out my old iron so we went and bought this one. I am so happy that this is the one we landed on since it yields incredible results! It doesn't spit water out of its soleplate, it doesn't scorch fabric on the correct settings, the soleplate is coated, and it has a continuous steam button. I love that it has automatic shut off that activates after 8 minutes of being still on its heel, or after 30 seconds of being on its soleplate. The amazing thing about the shut off is, that to turn it back on all you have to do is move the iron around and it re-heats up! This is great for me since I iron in steps so I don't have to worry about setting the house on fire from keeping it on. The only draw back I have is that it is significantly heavier than my old iron, so after using it all day, my wrist is pretty sore. However, I realize not everyone irons all day, so this probably isn't a huge problem for a lot of people. All in all, this iron is definitely worth the money if you need a good iron in your life. dw9080
I was so afraid to buy such an expensive iron but this one is worth every penny. It glides smoothly. Narrow tip is great for doing detail work. I also like the fact that there are a lot of holes on the plate for steam so steam is very fine and hot. It never drips. I used to make several paths to get the wrinkle out with my old iron but I only need to do it once with my Rowenta. I highly recommend it! rowenta dw9080 steamium
I purchased this iron in January 2011 from Amazon. I purposely have waited to provide a review because other Rowenta irons I have purchased have leaked after about three months. This iron has proven otherwise. I love this iron. I use only Spring bottled water in it and try to remove the water prior to disconnecting nightly. I am a longarm quilter and use this iron to steam my backing when loading the backing onto the leaders. The additional steam button located underneath the handle works great for this use. Also the point on this iron is the right angle for pressing seams in your piecing work if you are a seamstress or a quilter. As someone prior pointed out the iron is heavier than most but I would definitely purchase this iron again. rowenta dw9080 steamium iron
I have owned many steam irons, and this one is the best, ever! I have bought it for my family members, not just myself. It is well worth the extra dollars spent. rowenta dw9080 iron
Very nice iron. Large water tank, does not ever need descaling. Well balanced, no arm fatigue. Cord is plenty long. Does have a cleaning cycle if needed. Spray starch does not stick to the soleplate. rowenta dw9080 review
This iron costs a lot of money, but it is well worth every penny. It has the best steam and holds the most water of any iron I have ever used. The iron seems to glide over the clothes and makes ironing easier. dw9080 steamium iron
I love this iron! I iron a lot and have gone through countless types of irons. The last one I bought was some kind of fancy Euro Steam iron. The sole plate never got hot enough to press anything and I paid well over $200 for it. This iron gives off great steam and is hot enough to get out the toughest wrinkles. It holds enough water to steam for quite a while. I usually iron for about an hour and a half once a week and only have to refill once during that time. I love how hot it gets and I love how many steam holes there are and the force of steam you can use. I also love that it is heavy. This helps with the cottons and linens. I hope it will last for a very long time. It is truly the best iron that I've owned to date. rowenta iron dw9080
I read the reviews for a number of irons before purchasing this model of Rowenta. It's been in use for a week and I'm totally satisfied. Best iron I've ever owned. It actually performs as the manufacture promises - what a novel concept! rowenta dw9080
I have purchased several Rowenta irons for myself and as gifts and a water cup is always included with the iron, except this time. I will not purchase another Rowenta 'sold and shipped' by Amazon. I'm very disappointed. dw9080
It does the job,it works, it cleans it self. This is my 2nd Rowenta the 1st one was dropped by my girl rowenta dw9080 steamium
I do a lot of ironing and never had an appliance that measures up to the Rowenta. Finally, I get professional looking creases and sharp looking shirts. The steam holes make this the best appliance on the market. rowenta dw9080 steamium iron
The iron is a little heavy, but irons well and there is no dripping of water. Nice to see an iron work like this. rowenta dw9080 iron
As with all previous Rowenta irons, this is one great product. They just keep getting better with every new model introduction. Can't go wrong with Rowenta. rowenta dw9080 review
This is my second Rowenta and it did not disappoint. I especially appreciate the new pointed front, the lighted screen and the amount of steam I get when ironing tough wrinkles. I love this iron! dw9080 steamium iron
I purchase this iron because I brought 2 before. I love this power of the vent in the iron it is so good to iron with.I WEAR A LOT OF DEMIN wear , so i like my clothes to look good, you cover a lot of fabric with this iron with all the vents, it is worth the money.I love rowenta irons, they are so awasome. this is a good product. I also sew and i iron my seams open and i iron the finish products. You will want steam power when you are sewing, when you are pressing fabric. rowenta iron dw9080
It does the job. I just hope it lasts longer than the two years I was able to get out of the last one. dw9080
This is the third Rowenta iron I have purchased. My first lasted over 10 years as did my second (and I do a lot of ironing). The new Rowenta is a little different from my last, but after a couple uses, I fell in love again. They are wonderful irons and make a "nasty" job more pleasant. rowenta dw9080
I never thought I'd spend so much for an iron, but it has been well worth it! This has made ironing much faster and easier, the extra steam vents go all the way to the tip, and the smooth plate just glides. It's easy to fill. I don't have to keep going back and forth to remove wrinkles. Usually one swipe and it's done. It is a little heavier than my old irons, but I'm finding that a plus, as I hardly have to press hard like I used to, the weight is not excessive. My ironing is so much faster, it's hardly noticeable! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to make the tedious job of ironing easier. Haven't had it long enough to see if the steam stays clean without the build up and sputter of junk like all my other irons have had, I'm using spring water like they told me, and I will use the self-clean like recommended. So far I'm very pleased with it. I decided to take a chance on a good iron after I bought a good ironing board through Amazon. One of the heavy duty ones that doesn't wobble. and I could kick myself for not buying them much sooner! rowenta dw9080 steamium
The new Rowenta iron is working nicely. I hope this style lasts longer than the previous...only three years almost to the date of purchase. How I long for the old GE of the 60's. We certainly contribute to the garbage pile in these times. Such a shameful waste!! rowenta dw9080 steamium iron
I spent a fair amount of time researching irons, having been disappointed with my last purchase of an inexpensive iron. My significant other is a perfectionist when it comes to ironing his shirts (he irons his own clothes, thank goodness) and I myself don't like to spend a lot of time ironing - when I run an iron over a crease once, I want the crease gone and this iron does just that! The amount of steam this iron produces is incredible and when you use the burst of steam button (which you rarely have to do), it's even more incredible! The end product when you use this iron looks like a professional job - that's how well this iron works! The display settings are clear, the iron heats up amazingly fast, the iron has the weight to it that I like in an iron and the pointed tip is awesome for button areas and pleats. I recommend this iron to anyone who wants a great iron that's not outrageously priced! rowenta dw9080 iron
I purchased this Iron for my husband. He used my sister-in-laws at one time while we were in Boston for a visit. He just loved it. Says it just glides and does an awesome job. All it needs to do now is talk. We are both very pleased with this product. I myself wish it were a bit lighter, me being a small person and all. This doesn't affect the iron for my husbabnd uses it the most. rowenta dw9080 review
I've had a Rowenta for years, so when I needed to replace my iron I went straight to this brand. It is a very effective iron, with a good strong steam unit and a large water well. I actually like ironing (not shirts) and this new iron is wonderful to use. It is heavier than my last model, but the sole plate is so smooth that it makes ironing effortless, and the weight makes the iron more effective. I've used it on silk, cotton, linen and wool garments. All look much more fresh and professional. dw9080 steamium iron
I was looking back at my purchases over the past year and I realized I had not reviewed this iron. In short, it is an excellent investment. I never have a problem paying good $ for a quality item and this is one of those justified purchases. Over the years we had been exclusive Panasonic iron users. While our Panasonics were not dead, the sole plates (1 chrome and 1 non-stick) were getting worn/gummed up from much use and I wanted a change. I do 99% of the ironing for the kids and my wife weekdays. Weekends are wrinkle days as far as I'm concerned. With that logic, MY clothes are 7 day weekend clothes. I wish I could say care enough about my attire, but my line of work does not lend itself to pleats and starch very often. However, with this amount of use, I feel comfortable saying I really like this Rowenta. It gets nice and hot within a minute and the steam really produces a ton of moisture, which makes my job a fraction of what the Panasonics did. The steam boost function is awesome for those stubborn denims and such. Great buy. Well worth it. rowenta iron dw9080
Had a hard time finding a decent iron, when a lady who worked at Walmart told me about this brand. She herself had bought one after trying different brands and hating them. So I did some research on line and decided to give this one a try after reading the reviews. Love the iron. Easy to handle with the steam button inside the handle. Even my husband loves the iron and now will iron his own clothes. rowenta dw9080
This is by far the best iron I have ever owned!! It easily gets out the toughest wrinkles. It is also the prettiest iron I have owned, if you can call an iron pretty. I bought a cheap iron before this one and returned it after one use and I am so glad I did. This iron will not disaapoint and is well worth the investment. dw9080
I purchased this steam iron from Amazon a couple weeks ago and it's great! I have used Rowenta steam irons for many years but this one surpasses the other two that I have owned....The 400-hole soleplate and 1800 watts of steam gets wrinkles out quickly...also I like the the professional creases that it puts on dress slacks. (I always use a pressing cloth when doing this. I would highly recommend this iron as being a 5 star and I am one of the picky few who still irons everything and have for nearly 50 years,so you might say that "I am speaking from the voice of experience!" rowenta dw9080 steamium
This is a great iron. It took a little while to get used to the steam "trigger" but using now is okay. At first it did not seem to put out much steam but with all the holes in the sole plate it just spreads it out over the whole surface. It irons great. Just wish it did not have an auto-shutoff. rowenta dw9080 steamium iron
This is by far the best iron that I have ever used. I received the iron in 2 days. It was pack very well. No dings or damage on the box. I opened the iron, filled it with tap water like the quick start instructions stated. Basically you just turn the knob on the iron to the type of fabric that you are ironing and it will light up on the handle as you turn the knob. The shirts and clothes that I have ironed feel just like it was ironed at the dry cleaners. This iron may actually end up saving me far more money than I anticipated from not wasting money on dry cleaning. rowenta dw9080 iron
This promises to be the best iron I've had in a long time. Which is really only three or four. Anyway, since the one my Mom passed down to me when I left for school. In researching irons before I purchased this one, one reviewer made mention of buying one made in Germany, which this one is. Good advice. Even though this iron is a bit heavy, it promises to last a long time, has all the pertinent features, and the auto-off actually works. rowenta dw9080 review
I've been ironing for over 45 years and the past 20 years I've used Rowenta irons. They are great irons but they don't seem to last long. I take great care and empty them after every use but they still stop working after about 18 months-typically, they start spitting badly and fail to even heat up. At least, that is my experience with Rowenta. I bet I have purchased 10-15 Rowenta irons in the past 20 years. Even so, I still like the Rowenta because of the watts and excellent steam system. I purchased Sharp irons but they too don't last. I keep two irons-one for back-up in case the first fails. I've just had this iron for less than a week however, from this short time, I do love it. The reservoir holds a lot of water so you don't have to keep refilling it. This iron, DW9080, is powerful, 1800 watts which is very important. The more powerful the iron, the easier the ironing. This iron is easy to fill and heats up quickly. Since it has over 400 steam vents, it really puts out a lot of steam plus you have a couple of options to add more steam with the "autosteam vent", the "spray button" and burst of the "steam button". If you iron a lot and really care that your clothes look nice then I would recommend this iron, however, keep in mind that it may not last. But, on the other hand, maybe the problems that have plagued Rowenta have been addressed and it's more durable. dw9080 steamium iron
I love this iron. It truly makes my ironing a breeze. The steam is so forceful when it comes out that it is like having a professional pressing machine. rowenta iron dw9080
This is by far the best Iron we have ever owned. It does everything it advertises. Other irons are like child's play when compared to the Rowenta Steamium. If you are looking for an Iron that will EXCEED your expectations, BUY THIS ONE NOW! Very satisfied. rowenta dw9080
The Rowenta Steamium Iron is amazing, get it!Do yourself the biggest domestic favor. Its an ironing machine! This model is made in Germany, performs like a fine Germany sports car, never thought Id say these things abou an iron,it glides over clothes with no effort -no pressing down or endless hovering over wrinkles ,If you tighten your grip on the handle steam continuiously surges through the fabric,no spitting or leaking. I purchased this iron to iron 10 ft. table linens finished the job in minutes not hours. dw9080
This one does it all, and does all well. It is full-featured, with settings and functions that allow you to handle the most trying ironing tasks with ease. Water used is regular tap, and the iron has a self-cleaning function that, if the user selects regularly, will prevent it from clogging, or spitting out nasty mineral deposits in the middle of ironing a white dress shirt. It is a heavy iron, and some may find it tiring to use for long periods; however, the quality is there, and I wouldn't trade that for a light-weight, cheaply-made iron that just won't last. My last steam iron, also a Rowenta, lasted over fifteen years, and when I decided to upgrade to this one, it was still performing well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rowenta products, or this iron. rowenta dw9080 steamium
Love the high heat and steam that give my uniform a press almost as good as a professional dry cleaner. rowenta dw9080 steamium iron
This is a replacement iron for another Rowenta Iron I purchased. This iron is the best Rowenta I've owned by far. It heats up within 10-15 seconds after turning it on, and the steam output is strong making ironing really wrinkled items a breeze. Believe it or not this iron actually makes ironing fun. If your looking for a good iron, this is the is the best one for your money, you won't be disappointed. rowenta dw9080 iron
This iron steams!! I'm a sewer so the weight, amount of steam, and small point on the front of the iron is perfect for sewing. Enough steam to even fuse interfacing without bubbles. Only little thing that could be better is an off and on switch between steam and dry ironing. You have to hold the lever in to get steam when ironing. This could be tiring on your hand with alot of ironing. rowenta dw9080 review
I've always loved Rowenta's products, by using their products one can tell Rowenta is the expert of small home appliances. Before owning this one, I used a 1600 watts metal plate iron that I bought at wal-mart for around $60. Wal-mart iron takes a long time to iron everything that needs to be ironed, plus contantly going back and forth from water sink to ironing board. This new iron from Rewenta only takes a few breath to do the job, and less times of refill too. Though I am not an expert of irons, by jugding from this fantastic iron's appearance, I guess some of the magic come from the soleplate. dw9080 steamium iron
Have been looking for about a week for a new iron, which lead me to try about 3 different manufacturers: Rowenta, Black & Decker, Oliso. The DW9080 (which replaced the DZ9080) is the clear winner. Warms up fast, outstanding performance, great water usage. You will love the results. If you iron and want the best, do yourself a favor and get this unit you will love its workmanship. rowenta iron dw9080
I hate to iron, but this iron makes ironing so much easier. My DH loves to iron his clothes (bless his heart) and our old iron was leaking like Niagara falls. So I decided to treat him to a high end iron. After a lot of research (I always research my purchases), I purchased the latest model from Rowenta. Ironing now is so much easier and it cuts the work in half. I don't need to iron my pants front and back. The steam is my favorite feature. You can hear the steam coming out and it really gives you a lot of it and is very easy to use, you press a button and the steam comes out constantly - don't want steam, don't press the button - want a little bit of steam - press the steam button on top. I also like the display on top to let you know the type of fabric. Going around buttons is a breeze. The iron is heavy, but I like that. So far so good. Hope this iron last for a long time. dw9080
