The beginnings of the Bulova Watch Corporation can be traced to a small jewelry store opened on Maiden Lane in New York City in 1875 by Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia. A Bulova timer was placed on the moon's Sea of Tranquility to control the transmissions of vital data through the years.
